Founder Triage is a skill that takes an unstructured list of tasks or open loops and applies urgency × impact scoring to every item. It returns exactly one result: the single highest-scoring action, one sentence explaining why that action ranks first, and the first physical move required to start it. The design is intentionally non-hedging. It does not return a ranked list, a shortlist of options, or qualifying language like ‘you might also consider.’ The explicit goal is to eliminate decision overhead rather than redistribute it. This makes it suited to solo founders and operators who face an overloaded morning backlog and need a clear starting point rather than a structured menu. The skill pairs with task-initiator, which converts the chosen action into an immediate first move. It is compatible with Claude Code, Cursor, and claude.ai. There are no environment variables to configure and no package installation steps. Because the output is always a single action rather than a prioritized list, it is the wrong choice when a user needs a full ranked backlog, a multi-item plan, or a comparative analysis of several strategic options.

Use cases

  • Turn a morning brain dump of open tasks into one clear starting action
  • Apply urgency × impact scoring to a mixed list of founder responsibilities
  • Get a one-sentence justification for why a particular task should come first
  • Identify the first physical move needed to begin the highest-priority item
  • Reduce daily decision fatigue by removing the need to re-rank a shortlist yourself

When to use it

  • When a solo founder or operator has too many open loops and needs a single starting point
  • When decision paralysis is slowing down the start of a work session
  • When a quick urgency × impact triage is needed without manual scoring
  • When used alongside task-initiator to chain prioritization into immediate action

When not to use it

  • When a full ranked backlog or prioritized project plan is required
  • When comparative analysis of multiple strategic options is needed
  • When the user needs more than one action returned at a time
  • When working in an environment other than Claude Code, Cursor, or claude.ai
